Master Park's World Champion Taekwondo is a premier martial arts academy renowned for its high quality Taekwondo training. Master Park, a decorated Taekwondo champion with decades of experience, founded his first academy in 1998 to share his knowledge of and love for Taekwondo with others. His school offers comprehensive programs for students of all ages and skill levels. Emphasizing discipline, respect, and physical fitness, Master Park's World Champion Taekwondo provides a supportive and engaging environment where students can achieve their personal best. The academy is committed to fostering the traditional values of Taekwondo while incorporating modern training techniques to ensure a well-rounded martial arts education.
Taekwondo is a form of martial arts from Korea. “Tae” means “kicking.” “Kwon” means “punching.” “Do” means “art or way.” Therefore, Taekwondo is the way of using hands and feet for self-defense in unarmed combat. However, as “Do” can also be translated to “art,” Taekwondo is not just about your physical skill — it is also a way of thought and life.
Through strict discipline, Taekwondo trains both the body and the mind, placing great emphasis on the development of moral character. Control of the mind, discipline, kindness, and humility must accompany the physical grace.
At Master Park’s World Champion Taekwondo, we aim to teach this well-rounded martial arts education to ensure our students reach their personal bests in all aspects of their lives.
We happily welcome students as young as four years old.
We offer a specialized program (Little Tigers) for students aged 4 to 5. This class gives them a chance to learn some of the fundamentals of Taekwondo in a safe, supporting environment. We believe getting an early strong foundation leads to greater success throughout your not only their Taekwondo journey but also their whole life!
Each class, we teach students different offensive techniques (kicking) and choreographed movement (form). These are essential skills to not only learn the proper and safe ways to defend oneself in unarmed combat but also to heighten one’s body awareness. Being aware of your body and surroundings is integral to being proactive in a variety of dangerous situations.
Additionally, twice a month, we host sparring matches, where students can test their kicking and form knowledge with their peers in a safe, supervised, and encouraging environment. These matches allow students to put what they learn in class into action, which will help prepare them to act quickly and efficiently, even in unpredictable situations.
Devoting oneself to Taekwondo mastery means you are training with purpose. Taekwondo classes increase a child’s discipline, respect, and confidence. These are all key factors for success in an academic setting as well. With our school’s “report card” system being an integral step in receiving the next belt, students must also communicate with their school teachers about their behavior and effort in their academic school in order to advance in our school. Additionally, being able to show a commitment to an engaging activity can be great on resumes for colleges or jobs.
For over 20 years, Master Park has taught and coached at all levels, from children as young as four to Olympic athletes. With this experience, he caters to all skill levels in his classes, emphasizing his students’ personal growth, so we welcome anyone to join, no matter their experience level. We take pride in cultivating a supportive, interactive environment that encourages your kid to move in a safe way!
With our systematic belt system, we have also developed a way for students to gain mastery at their own self-pace. Our instructors will ensure that students advance only when they have mastered the skills appropriate for each belt, and they are always happy to work with students to make sure each one reaches this mastery.
Through our carefully planned belt system, students will be taught the necessary Kicking, Form, Breaking, and Sparring/Self-Defense techniques for each belt level, increasing in complexity and skill as students progress. For each belt, the instructors will keep an eye on students’ progress in class and determine when to give stripes (equivalent to quizzes in school) that will provide visual evidence of students’ readiness for the subsequent belt. After completion of their stripes, students are then able to participate in a test to move on to the next belt. With consistent dedication and practice, students can achieve mastery at their own pace.
